Flying with firearms
Craig Hill discovered the “she’ll be right” theory doesn’t work these days when flying with firearms.Craig (pictured below), an avid clay target and Pheasant shooter, was oblivious to the post 9/11 tightening of security and packed his shotgun in his wife’s bag to travel through Melbourne Airport to King Island for the Pheasant season. He said he thought, “They’ll just think it’s a hockey stick or something, I’ve done it before”.By not declaring the shotgun and ammunition in his luggage, Craig Hill was able to make the acquaintance of several officers of the Federal Police, who brought him up to date on regulations regarding flying with firearms.110608
